This special celebration chronicles the milestones and legacies of community leaders that have helped to position the ABL as a trusted convener and connector with an emphasis on engaging diverse audiences, uplifting underrepresented business owners, increasing access to resources and information that amplify and strengthen the operations and sustainability of Black businesses in our communities.

Event Details

Red Carpet Gala & Fundraiser Event

A special fundraiser and red carpet gala will include, live entertainment, complimentary spirits, and beverages as well as fine cuisine and passed hors d’oeuvres. During the excitement, guests will also participate in a coveted silent auction featuring sports memorabilia, jewelry, excursions and more.

Grand Ballroom Dinner

Guests will transition to the Grand Ballroom to partake in elegant dinner selections with wine, program activities led by the Mistress of Ceremonies from a local Television Station, and live performances.

Dr. Booker T. Washington Legacy Builder Award

The 2023 Dr. Booker T. Washington Legacy Builder Award will be presented to an acclaimed member of the community. The Award recognizes a CEO that has led over a decade or more of community service, advocacy, diversity, and inclusion initiatives. The award also celebrates the 90th Anniversary of the Atlanta Business League and the Legacy and Leadership of our affiliate organization the National Business League as founded by Dr. Booker T. Washington in 1900. A trailblazer and economic pioneer, Dr. Washington conceived and developed a broad-based structure for Black businesses.

Maynard H. Jackson Jr, Empowerment Award

The Maynard H. Jackson Jr, Empowerment Award honors the legacy of Atlanta’s first African-American mayor, a political trailblazer, and a national business phenomenon. This award recognizes an individual or corporation whose economic investments and community support have strengthened our city, our communities, and African American-owned businesses nationwide. The 2023 recipients of this distinguished honor are Senator Raphael Warnock and Senator Jon Ossoff. The awards will be presented during the 90th Anniversary Celebration Gala.

Atlanta Business League’s Business Hall of Fame Award

The Atlanta Business League’s Business Hall of Fame Award recognizes African-American businesses that have been in operation continuously for 25 years or more. These outstanding business owners have made significant contributions to the business world. This esteemed recognition serves to highlight their achievements, innovations, and leadership whose influence has made a lasting impact on the business community. During the 90^th Anniversary Celebration Gala, the Atlanta Business League will induct an Atlanta area business owner into the 2023 Business Hall Of Fame.
